I am generally regarded as someone who adopts a measured approach to issues and situations and who can forge effective working relationships with a wide range of people, both inside and outside our business.
As such, I am often tasked with steering projects beyond those encompassing pure business development activity. Examples in recent years have included: our 'Strategy Roadshows' explaining our plans to small groups of staff throughout the business; ensuring our offices were fully Covid-Secure by June 2020; and the establishment and opening of our new office in Malton in January 2021.
In terms of core responsibilities, I help set the overall direction for the firm in terms of the services we offer, our geographical focus and our competitive positioning. On a day-to-day basis, I oversee and co-ordinate the whole span of business development activity including audience targeting, marketing communications, sales progression and client relationship management.
In practical terms, as a 'one person' marketing department, I can only achieve what I do by developing trusted, long term working relationships with colleagues within our business, a close knit group of skilled suppliers and effective liaison with other professionals when collaborating on joint initiatives.
I have been in my role for two decades now and can happily report that it has, and continues to be, a very enjoyable journey, with a whole series of opportunities (and challenges!) along the way.
