Bio

My career in marketing and business development began more than 20 years ago. I completed my Chartered Institute of Marketing Diploma whilst working for a now Top 100 Law Firm and was part of a rapidly expanding team that had started with well….. just me!

Particular interests in the logistics sector, family owned business and not for profit led to opportunities to work with some great lawyers and commercial teams building their networks of clients and referrers. Highlights included setting up a sub brand for employment law training and, managing international conferences and the success of new offices, new markets and new sectors as the firm experienced rapid growth.

Fast forward to 2018 and the opportunity to build and head up a team at a much smaller, local firm – this time with a focus on the private client but with aspirations to build a commercial team to challenge the local market. COVID ended that opportunity and I then decided to work freelance - a brave and positive step. At this point I was far poorer if you looked at my bank account but far richer in the people and relationships around me. It was a time for rapid, digital upskilling as well as learning to ‘sell’ myself, something I am not very good at naturally.

Whilst freelancing I began working for Prettys Solicitors on a couple of particular projects which I thoroughly enjoyed, building their data protection practice being one of them. The flexibility at Prettys has also enabled me to continue my training as an End of Life Doula and juggle my work with my passion to bring the focus of death and dying ‘well’ to the forefront of living well.

At Prettys 2023 will be a year for bedding in the foundations that we need to continue to build a marketing and BD led organisation that believes in its lawyers and their capability and can deliver a ‘top drawer’ service to the clients we want to attract.
